On Wednesday, the Ministry of Petroleum concluded a three days’ workshop on resolving issues within the Oil and Gas sector. The workshop was attended by the sub – contractors of Joint Operation Companies. In his closing remarks, the minister emphasized the important of giving the employees their rights and the right to have a contract. He also pointed out that some of the local sub- contractors worked without contracts with their contractors, this is not acceptable and it be change. Minister also urged the contractors to evaluate their position on the policy of hiring local contractors because it is the responsibility of the government to prioritize the interest of the people first and to do that, the team led by Hon. Mayen Wol Jong will carry out the some vital enquires with all the contractors in the oil sector.
