Ministry of petroleum and Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Petroleum signed an agreement on Wednesday to resume the crude oil transportation from South Sudan to Sudan through Bashayer in Port Sudan. On behalf of South Sudan government Eng. Kon John Akot, the Director General for Petroleum Authority signed the agreement while Mohammed Saleh Osman, the Director General for Sudanese Petroleum Pipelines signed the agreement on behalf of the Sudanese government. Dr. Chol Deng T. Abel witnessed the significant moments of signing the document which stipulated the acceleration of resumption and transportation of the crude oil from South Sudan to global market via Sudan.

Speaking to the media, the Undersecretary Dr. Chol highlighted that the joint Technical Team will visit block 3/7 of Paloch Oilfield in the Upper Nile State and Al Jabalain to inspect all the facilities and more importantly the central processing facility to ensure that the facilities are all ready for the resumption and oil flow within the short time as planed
